Pengaruh Upah Minimum Provinsi, Pertumbuhan Ekonomi dan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia terhadap Kesempatan Kerja di Indonesia Tahun 2014-2025

Abstract


This study examines the effects of the provincial minimum wage, economic growth, and the Human Development Index on employment opportunities in Indonesia from 2014 to 2025. Panel data from 34 provinces were estimated using a Fixed Effect Model selected through the Chow and Hausman tests. The F-test shows that the three variables jointly affect employment opportunities, with an adjusted of 0.761. Partially, only economic growth has a positive and significant effect. A one-percentage-point increase in growth is associated with a 0.088-percentage-point increase in employment opportunities, although the elasticity is small. The provincial minimum wage and the Human Development Index are not significant at the 5% level. These findings suggest that expanding employment requires more labor-intensive growth, wage setting aligned with productivity, and better matching between workers’ skills and industry demand.
